Boyfriend of Woman Stuck On Toilet ‘Flush’
Posted on October 17th, 2008
In a case that can only be described as bizarre the boyfriend of the Kansas woman who spent two years in her boyfriend’s bathroom has won a Kansas lottery game for the second time in 2008. McFarren finally called police in February and reported that his girlfriend Pam Babcock had refused to come out of the bathroom for two years. When authorities arrived it was found that the woman had become physically attached to the toilet.
McFarren was charged with misdemeanor mistreatment of a dependent adult and received six months of probation. In March McFarren was charged with alleged lewd and lascivious behavior. He allegedly exposed himself to a neighbor’s teenage daughter and her friends.
In a bizarre twist McFarren won a Kansas lottery game for the second time. McFarren purchased a $2 Bonus Crossword ticket and won $20,000. Hopefully most of the money will go for fines and attorney fees. We hate to say it but as of now McFarren’s finances are ‘flush.’
Occasionally lottery news can get pretty strange. Recently there was the case of a woman in Columbus Ohio who walked into a Burlington Coat Factory store and announced she had won $1 million dollars in the Ohio lottery and would pay for $500 dollars worth of merchandise for those who were already in the store. When it became obvious that the woman was a fraud a riot ensued and the ‘customers’ trashed the store. The woman was arrested and charged with a variety of criminal offenses.
There was the strange case of Texas lotto player Willis Willis who took his lottery tickets to the convenience store where he regularly bought lotto tickets. The clerk told Willis he had won nothing when in reality he had won over a million dollars. The convenience store clerk then collected the winnings and fled to his native Nepal.
One of the strangest pieces of lottery news is the fact that most US players cannot buy lottery tickets online. Despite the existence of 21st century technology which would make the transition to online lottery ticket sales easy and quick most states have been slow to adopt the technology. Studies in jurisdictions where online lottery ticket sales are legal have shown that online lottery ticket sales boost revenue. Players cite convenience as the chief attraction of buying lottery tickets online. In the UK and Europe players can log on and play several lotteries at once which amounts to an international online lottery. Hopefully the US will allow online lottery ticket sales soon.
